During the first 10 years following the creation of the College of Agricultural Engineering (ETSIAM) of the University of Córdoba (UCO) (1968-1978), its staff was enriched with a group of prestigious professors, some of them had completed their undergraduate studies in the ETSIA of the UPM, and even were member of its staff; others came from INIA, and most of them had received postdoctoral training in prestigious European and American Universities and Research Centers.
Among them were those that occupied the incipient Chairs of Plant Pathology and Agricultural Entomology. These Chairs of the ETSIAM were pioneers in Andalusia; they were responsible and had the opportunity to establish the first research groups and to develop the first research lines in Plant Health. These new research lines in the ETSIAM of the UCO were the basis for a series of ‘schools of thought in Plant Health’ that enjoy great national and international recognition. In this work, we refer to that ‘school’ as the brand “Plant Health ETSIAM”. The present work addresses the ontogenesis of this brand, its diversification, and its bibliometric impact.
